We are SAMUEL ROYCE.

We were established by Search Consultant Chris Kidd, his long-standing business colleague from the Renewable Energy Industry, Darryl Flukes and technology & data recruitment expert, James Eichhorn.

We were founded on a vision to recruit and embed the most exceptional leadership talent for their clients in shaping their future success in Sustainability and Renewables. In turn, we will create the most rewarding long term career possibilities for aspiring candidates as they look to make their mark on a Sustainable future.

This will be achieved through the insight, experience and networks gained from Chris and Darryl’s unique blend of experience across 25 years in Search, Renewables and Leadership.

CHRIS KIDD

Principal Partner, Search

Chris has built a successful recruitment career with market leaders Robert Walters and Morgan and Banks, and more recently as a partner in a reputable boutique search firm . At Samuel Royce, he specialises in corporate leadership including CEO, Finance, Commercial, Development and Markets within Renewable Energy and Sustainability aligned industries.

He often works closely with high growth/ramp up phase clients on newly created C/GM level roles from brief development to appointment.Prior to recruitment, Chris worked as CA in both Australia & the UK with Ernst & Young and Credit Suisse.

From his Leadership and Search experience, Chris firmly believes that a shared set of values and looking beyond the short-term need, drives the most successful placements and enduring client-candidate relationships

Chris loves his sports and is an enthusiastic but often frustrated golfer, and plays regular Tuesday night tennis (great serve, ordinary backhand).

DARRYL FLUKES

Principal Partner, Client Relations

Darryl is an industry leader across the energy supply chain in both the UK and Australia. He is a respected figure and a determined advocate for a carbon free future having held executive, board and consulting roles in the world of Renewable Energy and Clean Fuels.

Darryl's experiences ranges from executive positions in renewable energy companies including Southern Hydro and Infratil, to board roles at solar generation developer ESCO Pacific, clean fuels developer projects HAMR Energy, Meridian Energy/Powershop and the Clean Energy Council. He also holds a Masters of Environment and Sustainability.

It is his strong belief that a key attribute for his success has been the recruitment and investment in high quality and culturally aligned people. These candidates have become industry leaders themselves and continue to play a role within Darryl's network.

Outside of the office, you can find Darryl churning up the water in the pool or the ocean. As an avid swimmer, Darryl is also President of Masters Swimming Victoria.

JAMES EICHHORN

Partner, Technology

James has more than a decade specialising in technology recruitment, spanning top tier specialist consultancies within the Australian market including senior roles at Davidson Technology, Counterpoint Group and Talent Insights.

At Samuel Royce, James specialises in recruiting Data, Analysts and Engineering verticals. He partners with both established Australian brands and scaling technology businesses, supporting critical hires from mid-level through to leadership appointments.

James is known for his relationship-led approach and his ability to work closely with clients to shape role briefs, advise on market conditions, and align hiring decisions with long-term business objectives. He believes the strongest outcomes are achieved when people, values and organisational purpose are closely aligned, and this philosophy underpins his work with both clients and candidates.

James keeps active outside of work with a keen interest in keeping fit where you can find him practising martial arts at 5.30 am most days and on the weekend sharing similar frustrations to Chris on the golf course.
